Missing girl’s family protests outside DM office in Noida

Parents of a four-year-old girl, who went missing from outside her residence in Sector 22, staged a protest at the district magistrate’s office on Wednesday afternoon.

Kashish Rawat had gone missing from outside her house on May 12. Parents of the victim said they staged the protest to pressurise the police and the administration to find Kashish at the earliest.

“It has been more than two weeks since my daughter went missing. I have time and again requested the police to search for her before it’s too late. We met the city magistrate today and requested him to pressurise the police to recover my daughter as soon as possible,” said Sanjay Rawat, father of Kashish.

District magistrate NP Singh said, “The matter is in my knowledge. I have asked the police to act fast to recover the missing girl.”

The family of the victim had staged a march to Sector 12-22 police post last week to seek immediate police action in the case.

The police said they are investigating the case and a team has been constituted with a sub inspector level officer as in-charge to investigate the case.

“We have sought help from all neighbouring police forces. Her photograph with all details is being circulated frequently. We are also seeking help of the public to locate the child. We are hoping to recover her soon. A case of abduction was registered on the day of the incident against unidentified persons,” said Kamlesh Yadav, the investigating officer of the case.

The family and neighbours of the victim have put more than 5,000 posters across the city and have given contact numbers with the hope of getting any information about the victim.

“Our neighbours, relatives and friends are helping us in tracking my daughter. We are leaving no stone unturned and want the police to do the same,” said Rawat.
