Man booked in Noida after being filmed beating wife on the road

A 33-year-old woman was beaten up by her husband on the road in front of her rented accommodation in Sector 20. A neighbour filmed the entire incident, which took place on August 2, and handed over the tape to police. An FIR has been lodged against the husband of the victim.

The woman said her husband is an alcoholic and often tortured her under influence of liquor.

A few months ago, she left her husband’s residence in Mainpuri and came to Noida with her six-year-old daughter and started working in a private firm. However, she claims that her husband found her address and often visited her and made attempts to get back with her.

“When I refused, he started abusing me. He even threatened to pour acid on my face. Thing were getting worse as he was getting more violent. On the morning of August 2, he appeared at my doorstep and dragged me out of the house. I shouted for help and the neighbours came out,” the woman said.

“The neighbours kept requesting him to stop assaulting me but he did not listen to anyone. He kept beating and abusing me in front of my daughter and in full public view. I kept begging him to leave me alone but he did not listen. He slapped me with a slipper, pulled my hair and punched me on the back and stomach. Many people tried to intervene but when they knew the matter was between husband and wife, they stepped back. My neighbour captured the entire incident on camera as proof,” the woman said.

The woman said she got married seven years ago in Mainpuri. She said she ignored her husband’s arrogant and rude behaviour for a while. Things turned ugly when her husband started torturing her for petty issues in front of their daughter.

The woman claimed that her husband often beat her in front of his parents but nobody stopped him. So she decided to leave her husband’s home and started working at a Noida firm. Her daughter also got admission in a school in Noida.

The police said they have registered an FIR against the man and a police team is searching for him.

“The matter is under investigation. We have a video clipping in which a man is seen beating the woman and abusing her. He will be arrested soon,” said Amarnath Yadav, station house officer, Sector 20 police station.
