Greater Noida woman held at gunpoint, house robbed in broad daylight

Unidentified men barged into a house, held a woman at gunpoint and fled with valuables in broad day light. The incident occurred at the Defence Enclave area of Badalpur on Thursday morning at about 11 am when two unidentified persons reached local residence Raj Hans Sharma’s residence, police said.

“My wife Hoshila was alone at the residence when the robbers came. They rang the doorbell and asked for somebody named Ashok. When my wife said she doesn’t know any Ashok in the locality, they told her my name claiming that they were familiar to me and demanded a pen,” Sharma told HT.

“My wife slipped the pen out from beneath the door without opening it. The robbers then asked for a notepad. She again tried to slip in front below the door but they convinced her to pass it to them through the door. As she opened the door, one of them forcibly entered the house and held her on gunpoint,” said Sharma.

He said while one of the robbers held his wife hostage, the other one ransacked the house. He said the robbers also kicked his wife before fleeing from the spot when she tried to raise an alarm.

The police said they have registered an FIR in the matter a team was formed to investigate the case.

“It seems like some persons known to the victim are involved as they knew the name of the male member. Also, they knew the exact location of the jewellery and cash. The complainant claims they made away with cash and jewellery worth R 2.5 lakh,” said VK Pandey, in charge, Badalpur police station.

Sharma said his wife can identify the attackers but she never saw them before the incident.

“They had come on a TVS Apache. One of them was wearing white shirt and trousers while the other one was wearing jeans and t-shirt. Both of them were tall and strong. We hope police arrest them soon,” said Sharma.
