Greater Noida: Man accuses police of torture in ‘suicide note’, goes missing
A man disappeared from his Greater Noida home on Monday after leaving behind a “suicide note” accusing the police of torturing him.
A man disappeared from his home on Monday after leaving behind a “suicide note” accusing the police of torturing him. No body has been recovered so far, leading the police to suspect his motive.

The police said Ishwar Singh, who had been to jail twice on charges of robbery and under the Gangster Act, left a four-page note accusing the Knowledge Park police of framing him in fake cases. The note said he was going to commit suicide.
“We sent divers to river Yamuna near Momnathal village to find the body, but nothing has been found so far. Ishwar was out on bail and was called by the police for questioning in connection with a robbery case,” said Sanjay Verma, in charge, Knowledge Park police station.
The police said they are searching for Ishwar at his relatives’ houses.
“Until his body is recovered, we cannot say whether he has committed suicide or not,” Verma said.
Ishwar’s father Rajveer Singh, claimed that the police tried to frame his son and extort money from him.
“On November 2 last year, the police framed my son in a fake case of car robbery and, on November 7, they arrested and put him in jail. After two months, we managed to arrange the bail amount and got him out. But, again on June 5, the police slapped Gangster Act on him and sent him to jail. We got him out after depositing the bail amount on July 15,” the father said.
Singh, a farmer, claimed that the police called Ishwar several times and kept demanding money from him, threatening to send him to jail again.
“We are poor and do not have any money. My son has studied up to class 12 and was struggling to get a job. He is innocent and could not bear all this. He left a suicide note yesterday and we have not been able to trace him yet,” Singh said.
