Entry of trucks prohibited on three more routes in Noida
The three routes on which the movement of trucks and trailers has been banned from 7.30am to 11am and from 5pm to 10pm are Kisan Chowk to Sector 71, Sector 71 to Barola bypass and Kulesra to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida
To reduce traffic congestion during peak traffic hours on three important roads in the city, the Noida traffic police has prohibited the entry of heavy goods carriers for over eight hours in the morning and evening. The ban came into effect on Thursday morning.

The three routes on which the movement of trucks and trailers has been banned from 7.30am to 11am and from 5pm to 10pm are Kisan Chowk to Sector 71, Sector 71 to Barola bypass and Kulesra to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. The step is aimed at streamlining traffic on these congested routes.
Superintendent of police (traffic) AK Jha said the step has been necessitated to streamline traffic on these routes. “During peak traffic hours in the morning and evening, there is a heavy movement of vehicles on these three routes. Movement of goods carriers during these hours adds to the congestion,” he said.
Jha said the traffic personnel deputed on these routes have been directed to restrict the movement of goods carriers. “We have already informed the transporters and industrialists to follow the restrictions. However, we will start imposing fines in a day or two once the signage, with the prohibited timings, are put in place,” he said.
The signages about the entry restriction will be installed at Tigri, Greater Noida West, Sector 71, Barola, Kulesra and Pari Chowk, the SP said.
Jha said the ban on the movement of heavy goods carriers during peak hours was already in place on Master Plan-III Road stretch from Kalindi Kunj to Sector 71 crossing. This has now been extended up to Kisan Chowk as the road has become very congested with the increase in population in Greater Noida west.
The road is also used by commuters to go towards Ghaziabad. In view of the increasing traffic load on the route, trucks coming from Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Greater Noida West and Surajpur will be prohibited to ply from Kisan Chowk to Kalindi Kunj and back during peak traffic hours.
Similar restrictions will be in place on the route from Sector 71 crossing to Barola bypass and from Kulesra to Pari Chowk via Yamaha factory and Surajpur.
The existing routes on which the movement of goods carriers is prohibited are Dadri-Surajpur Chhalera Road, Master Plan (MP)-I Road, MP-II Road and MP-III Road from Kalindi Kunj to Sector 71 crossing. Restrictions on these routes came into effect from November 15, 2014.
