Dharmendra Yadav will be operating from the new office of Senior Superintendent of Police at Surajpur in Greater Noida.

Dharmendra Singh Yadav, a 2006-batch IPS officer, took charge as the new senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Gautam Budh Nagar on Wednesday. Singh replaced Kiran Sivakumar, who has been posted on deputation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Yadav was earlier the SSP of Ghaziabad.

Addressing mediapersons on Wednesday, Yadav said he will work on improving policing skills. “A conclusive investigation of serious criminal offences will be ensured. The investigation of such cases will be closely monitored by senior officials,” said Yadav.

The new SSP said he will be operating from the new SSP office at Surajpur area of Greater Noida.

Asked about the Dadri lynching case, in which families of the accused are demanding registration of an FIR against Mohammad Ikhlaq’s family for alleged cow slaughter, Yadav said, “The matter is sub judice. However, if any person comes to us with a complaint, which is not in the court’s proceedings, we will look into the matter. As of now, the matter is being heard in a fast-track court.”

Yadav, who has been praised by the Central and state governments for his initiative ‘operation smile’ that traces missing children, said he will conduct a real-time audit of police stations.

“The audit will be conducted for an optimum utilisation of the force. We are reeling under severe staff crunch. To tackle the issue, we will organise special training sessions for police personnel who are posted at sensitive localities. We will conduct a training soon to prepare personnel to respond to the calls quickly,” he said.

Yadav said he will not tolerate corruption in the force and will re-investigate the pending cases against the sleuths.

“Those officials who are already facing departmental enquiry, will be identified at each police station. A fresh investigation will be done to probe the charges,” he said.
