A 36-year-old businessman was attacked with swords by four unidentified men in his office in Kasna industrial area, Greater Noida, on Saturday night.

Vinod Bhati is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Noida.
According to his family and friends, Bhati was wrapping up work for the day when he was attacked.
“It was just after 9.30pm. He was about to close the office. Only his peon was there. Four men came in with swords and lathis (thick sticks). They manhandled the peon and then attacked Vinod with the swords,” Rupesh Bhati, Vinod’s friend, said.
Rupesh added that the whole incident was recorded by the CCTV cameras installed in Vinod’s office. “From the footage it is clear that Vinod tried to fight off the perpetrators. There was a struggle. He managed to push them out and locked himself inside his office. The accused left soon after,” Rupesh said.
He said that the peon managed to alert some daily wagers working nearby, who then reported the matter to the police.
“They took him to Kailash Hospital first. From there, he has been shifted to Jaypee Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). He has suffered a severe head injury as well as multiple stab wounds. However, his condition is now stable,” Rupesh said.
A resident of Sheorajpur, Greater Noida, Vinod is a construction contractor. His family has not been able to identify anyone who might have an enmity with him.
“At present, we are not aware of anyone who might want to harm him. However, once he becomes conscious, he might be able to shed some light on who attacked him or why,” Rupesh said.
The police are looking at the CCTV footage.
“So far the accused have not been identified. We are working on that. Even though the incident occurred around 10pm, we got to know about it only around 12.30am,” Dharmendra Sharma, station house officer, Greater Noida police station, said.
A case of attempt to murder (Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code) was registered against the four unidentified accused.
