Amity University student shot dead at his flat in Noida
A marine-science student of Amity University was shot dead at his rented flat in Sector 100 of Noida on Saturday evening, police said. The deceased was identified as Sandesh, a student from from Andhra Pradesh.
A BSc (Marine science) student of Amity University was shot dead at his rented flat in Sector 100 of Noida on Saturday evening, police said. The deceased was identified as Rama Raju Sandesh, a student from from Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place around 3.30pm when some unidentified people rang the doorbell of Sandesh’s flat. Police said he opened the door and the attackers shot him and fled.
“Sandesh used to stay at Lotus Boulevard society with his friends who are students of the same university. On Saturday, when he was at his residence, somebody came to the door. His friends said they heard him scream ‘Aman, don’t kill me’ and then they heard two gun shots. They saw two persons fleeing the spot,” said Vijay Dhull, assistant superintendent of police, Noida.
The police said the deceased was living with two friends -- Madhur and Nadeem. At the time of the incident, Madhur had gone to a shopping complex to fetch grocery. Nadeem and Sandesh were sitting in one room and two of their guests were sleeping in another room.
“Nadeem was the one who saw the attackers. After hearing one gunshot, he rushed towards the door but before he could have come out of the room, he heard another gunshot and hid behind the door. He peaked through the door and saw two persons fleeing. One of them was carrying an axe. Sandesh was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” Dhull added.
Police said there are no CCTV cameras installed in the society where Sandesh was living. The police have corroborated the statements of deceased’s friends with the statements of the eyewitnesses and found that two suspects had entered the society. However, none of his friend knew about any person named Aman.
“A case under section 302 of IPC was registered at Sector 39 police station against the accused Aman and another unidentified person. The body has been sent for postmortem, reports of which are awaited. We have also recovered an axe from the spot. The body had multiple wounds,” Dhull said.
