1 dead, 5 hurt in Innova accident in Greater Noida

A 60-year-old man died after the Toyota Innova he was travelling in was hit by a speeding truck at GT Road in Dadri on Friday morning. Five others were injured in the accident.

Bhagwan Das was with his family in the car, police said.

“The victims were travelling towards Delhi. When they entered Dadri, a truck coming from the other side collided with it. Das died on the spot, while five of his family members survived with injuries. The passersby informed the police about the incident. A police team rushed the injured to the hospital,” said Anurag Singh, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Dadri.

Police said the erring driver abandoned the truck and fled.

“We have identified the owner of the truck... The driver will be identified and arrested soon,” said Singh.

In another accident on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway near Sector 127, a taxi fell down from the road after being hit by an unidentified dumper. The taxi driver suffered minor injuries.
