Kadu, who supports the Democratic Front government in the state, remained undeterred when agriculture minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil met him on Wednesday. “Vikhe-Patil promised that he would resolve the issue through discussions with the chief minister. But, I want the CM to take concrete decisions before I end my fast until death.”

Rural development minister Jayant Patil also met Kadu, whose demands include the implementation of the Narendra Jadhav Committee Report and inclusion of agricultural works under the rural employment scheme.

Bala Nandgaonkar, group leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, also spent time with the farmers’ leader while general secretary of Republican Party of India Rajendra Gavai went on fast for a day.
