Psychologists said students need not stress as SSC exams are not the end of the world. Pallavi Bhurkay, a clinical psychologist, said parents play a big role in aggravating exam anxiety in children. “They need to decide if they want to push their child to emulate the topper, or explore their individuality,” she said.
Counsellors said that parents and students should realise that the Class 10 boards are only a milestone in a long journey. Bhurkay said, “Till now, everything was a buffet, after today kids need to engage in introspection to understand their strengths and weaknesses.”
Counsellors added that parents should tell their children that failure doesn’t equal rejection.
