KGAF: Brushing up on their Instagram skills

There was a different kind of handiwork on display at the Artisans craft gallery in Kala Ghoda on Monday, as Mumbaiites met to discuss new ways to express themselves via Instagram.

The workshop, Pursuit of Pixels, was held as part of the HT Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and focused on the evolution of photography in the age of smartphones.
“For me, Instagram has always been a very accessible, personal and relatable platform where I get to meet like-minded people, people interested in simply capturing what they see around them irrespective of the technicalities,” said Meghna Girhotra of @mumbai_instagramners, who conducted the session with Kuber Shah of @doorsofmumbai.
The workshop attracted participants from diverse backgrounds. “The workshop added to my knowledge and now I have so many options to choose from,” said Sandeep Makhna, 30, a call centre executive from Nalasopara. Yash Rane, 27, a chef from Bandra: “I now understand the commercial value of the platform.”
