Some students accessed their CAT results on January 2 and 3, when the IIMs were uploading the results.

“The world comes to India to hire IT experts and we should not forget that several IT engineers take CAT exam and consider IIMs as their next destination,” said an IIM director.

“We should consider decreasing the gap between the conclusion of CAT and publication of result next year,” he added.

“For two years now CAT has become a computer based exam. Computer checks the answer scripts and the result sheets too are tabulated by the computer. Hence like GRE and GMAT we too can publish CAT result almost immediately,” said the director.
