On Friday, 1,000 tickets for the World Cup semi-finals and finals were allotted via online ballot by Kyazoonga.com, the tournament’s ticketing website. A second round of ballots will be announced on Saturday only for the final. The number of tickets to be allotted through this ballot will be announced by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), said Kyazoonga CEO Neetu Bhatia.

Cricket fans can try their luck in the second ballot till March 19; the winners will be announced after that.

Thousands of cricket fans had signed up for the first ballot, hoping to get tickets.

Bhatia said they initially planned to sell the remaining tickets at the venue but seeing the chaos that took place in Bangalore and Nagpur they decided to stick to the online ballot. “Drawing lots by ballot is the only fair way of distributing the remaining tickets” added Bhatia.

She said that a list of the winners of the first ballot would be put up on www.icccwc2011.kyazoonga.com and winners notified via email.

Wankhede Stadium has 31,000 seats. Of these, 7,500 have been allotted to the International Cricket Council. Some of the tickets remaining after the ballots will be allotted to MCA’s corporate partners, while the rest will sold through clubs affiliated to the MCA.

Jayant TCA, 21, will be attending his first World Cup final. “I have been following cricket all my life and feel exhilarated at the chance to watch the finals. I hope India make it there and win,” said the recent graduate.
