Yoga instructor arrested for stalking, molesting former student

A yoga instructor was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stalking and molesting a former student of his. Raju Ghosh has been charged with sections 354 (assault), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354d (punishment upon first conviction) of the Indian Penal Code.

The complainant is a resident of Pali Hill and used to be Ghosh’s student. She had recently joined a different yoga class. On March 11, Ghosh accosted her outside her new yoga class.

“He tried to speak to her. He also threatened her. When the woman tried to leave from the spot, he allegedly followed her, held her hand and jerked it strongly,” said a police officer.

Ghosh is also accused of making multiple calls to the woman and asking her to leave her husband to be with him.
