The accused allegedly drugged the minor before raping her.

A case of kidnapping and gang rape has been registered with the Vakola police.

The complainant said that she was waiting near Mithi River around 9.30pm after visiting a relative near a Ravi hotel in Vakola when the two accused arrived on bikes.

They were both around 25 years of age and one of them was her friend, she told the police.

“The two accused then asked her to accompany them for a ride which she refused a couple of times. But when they offered to drop her home in Kurla, she accepted it,” said an officer from Vakola police station.

The duo then took the minor to Bandstand where they offered her a drink laced with sedatives, added the official. After drinking it, she began to lose consciousness. The accused then took her to an open ground at BKC and raped her and fled the spot.

The girl said that it was pretty late in the night and even though she tried to cry out for help, no one was around to hear her. She managed to hail a taxi early on Wednesday and reached home.

She then informed her aunt, who then filed a complaint with the Kurla police station. The officers arrested the two accused and transferred them and the case to the Vakola police station.

The police have booked the accused under section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (G) (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code along with relevant sections under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
