DCPR refers to rules and regulation that will dictate developement of the city as per the two-decade vision outlined in DP.

Continuing its combative mode, the Shiv Sena also criticised the state government for its alleged attempt to dilute the powers of the party-ruled Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The urban development department, which controls the BMC, is headed by chief minister Fadnavis.

The ties between Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have remained fractious. The Sena has opposed the state government’s plan to open up salt pan land for development and give more floor space index (FSI) around Metro corridors.

“We met the CM and requested him to give an extension for receiving suggestions and objections. DP is available in Marathi. Similarly, DCPR should be made available in Marathi for the common man to read and understand it. Only then can a common man give some suggestions or objections,” said Anil Parab, Sena spokesperson and member of legislative council.

The Sena alleged that many suggestions made by its MLAs and corporators have not been incorporated in DP.

Meanwhile, the state is likely extend the deadline for filing suggestions and objections to the excluded part (EP) of DP, which will apply to DCPR as well, said Nitin Kareer, principal secretary, urban development department.
