The man gave his old SUV 500 car to the sales assistant as part of an offer, and was to get the new car in return after deducting an appropriate amount. The sales assistant took the SUV from the man and instead of handing it to the showroom, he sold it to a broker for Rs5.5 lakh.
The assistant neither took their permission to sell the SUV to the broker, nor did he give them Rs 5.5 lakh that came out of the deal. He became untraceable for eight days. A FIR was then registered earlier this month with the Juhu police, and the accused was arrested. He has been remanded to police custody till 24 November.
