Mumbai man held for showing middle finger to colleague
According to the Saki Naka police, the arrested accused and the 22-year-old woman worked as a trainee in a private company.
A 24-year-old man was arrested last week for allegedly showing his middle finger, in front of the other office staff, to his co-worker as she had complained to the office management for his indecent behaviour.

During one of the training sessions on August 6, the accused went up to the complainant, who was having food in the canteen, and told her “Darling, please pass me that”. The complainant ignored his behaviour and left the room feeling insulted.
However, the accused continued to pass indecent comments on the woman.She then complained to the office management against his behaviour on August 7. The accused was asked for an oral apology by the company.
On August 8, during the training session, the man showed his middle finger to the woman in front of all the other trainees. The complainant said she felt insulted and left the room crying.
The woman then approached the Saki Naka police and lodged a first information report (FIR) under section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on August 13.
A police officer from Saki Naka police station, said, “The accused was traced and arrested last week. He has been remanded to judicial custody.”
