Mumbai admissions cheating racket: Another student files police complaint
Ferin Patel, a former engineering student, was arrested by Juhu police on Friday
Three days after a 28-year-old man was arrested by the Juhu police for allegedly cheating students, under the pretext of getting them admission, more students have come forward and registered cases against him.

According to police sources, a student has now registered a case at Colaba police station.
Ferin Patel, a former engineering student, was arrested by Juhu police on Friday for purportedly cheating two students from Pune and promising them admission in one of the top management colleges. During interrogation, it was revealed that Patel had cheated students from across the city.
“A boy has now registered a case at Colaba police station after the accused took five lakh rupees from him under the pretext of getting him admission at Jai Hind College. The case cropped up during interrogation. We have approached more students from Andheri and Kandivli to register cases at police stations in their jurisdiction,” said a police officer.
Sources said that a case has been registered at the national capital, too, after Juhu police informed the police there, about the accused cheating multiple people on the pretext of getting them jobs. Police is now confident that more complainants will come forward and register complaints. A businessman, who was cheated by the same accused, has also been approached by the police in Ahmedabad.
Police sources said that Patel is a former student of Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, which is a part of NMIMS.
“He joined the college in 2013-14, but did not complete his course. He has always been fascinated by high-end bikes,” he added.
