Man held for raping 19-year old
Though the accused is married and has two children aged eight and six, he told the girl he was a bachelor and promised to marry her
A 35-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl in Mumbai. Though the accused is married and has two children aged eight and six, he told the girl he was a bachelor and promised to marry her.

The MIDC police said the accused works as a Gramsevak in a Grampanchayat. The victim — a college student — and he belong to the same village, where they met through mutual friends.
The man kept the girl in the dark about his wife, who he married a decade ago.
Police said the accused did not intend to divorce his wife, who did not know about his extra-martial affair. The girl’s brother was the one who found out about the man’s family.
He alerted his sister, who immediately approached the MIDC police station with a complaint. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered recently under section 376 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code for rape and cheating.
The accused was produced before a magistrate’s court that remanded him to police custody till October 4.
