From wedding to mourning: Fight over turning off music ends in assault with beer bottle, 1 death

A 38-year-old man was beaten to death and his aide was injured in a fight over switching off the music playing at a wedding celebration in Mumbai on Monday.

The incident took place at Abdul Rasool chawl on Gilbert Road. At a wedding party, two groups got into a scuffle over playing music. According to the police, the complainant, Mohsin Mehboob Shaikh,18, said the argument soon turned heated and members of the other group – Kasim Shaikh, Zahir Shaikh and Asif Shaikh – beat them up with beer bottle, cricket bat, tiles and a sickle. While the trio has been arrested, police are looking for their aides.

While Mohammad Anjum Vadari died soon after the attack, Sadik Ali Shaikh is battling for his life with serious injuries at Cooper hospital.

A police official from DN nagar police station said, “The victim and accused are local residents. The arrested accused will be produced before a magistrate on Wednesday.”
