30-year-old run over by trailer on expressway

In a second accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in two days, a 30-year-old truck driver died after being run over by a trailer near Panvel on Saturday. The trailer driver, who is yet to be identified, has been booked under sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicles Act.

The victim, Sandeep Dalvi, and the truck owner, Rajendra Potre, 44, were travelling from Mumbai to Pune. Around 4am, they got down from the vehicle to inspect the tyre. At the same time, a Pune-bound trailer hit Dalvi, who suffered severe injuries. The accused fled the spot, said police. Dalvi was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
