The road show began from Salimpur house in Qaiserbagh and moved to Parivartan Chowk and IT crossing passing Lucknow University. A group of over 100 bikers moved with Acharya who led the rally on a black motorcycle. Almost all who participated in the rally (including Acharya) did not bother to wear a helmet.

“Meri aap logo se kewal ek hi winiti hai, nafrat karne walo ko harao aur prem karne walo ko jitao(I only have one request: defeat those who spread hate and elect those who love),” Acharya said while addressing people near IT crossing.

The bikers stopped at several places where people welcomed them. At Munshipulia, Acharya alighted from the motorbike and garlanded statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar. “The existence of the Constitution of our country is in a grave danger and the only way to save it is to vote against the BJP,” he told a group of supporters. Krishnam is contesting against Rajnath Singh of the BJP and SP-BSP alliance candidate Poonam Sinha. At Nishatganj, Acharya moved to an open jeep and led the rally back to Congress office in Mall Avenue.

PRIYANKA’S APPEAL

Priyanka Gandhi, Congress general secretary and incharge for east UP sent a video message to voters of Lucknow. She was reportedly scheduled to participate in Congress candidate Krishnam’s campaign. “Acharya Krishnam is a person who understands the pain of the common man. He has always raised his voice against the government that has attacked your business. Remember my words when you go to polls and vote for Acharya Krishnam to ensure his victory by maximum margin,” Priyanka said in the video.
