Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Sunny Deol can’t debate with experienced politician Jakhar, says Dharmendra
Actor Dharmendra claimed that his son and BJP’s Gurdaspur Lok Sabha candidate Sunny Deol has received a lot love from people for his patriotic roles, and after getting elected MP, he will serve the people of Punjab.
Bollywood star Dharmendra descended onto the political battlefield on Saturday to lend support to his son, actor Sunny Deol who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls on a BJP ticket in the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency. The veteran said he and his son are not here to debate with anyone but to address sorrows of the people.

Responding to Sunny’s opponent and Congress nominee Sunil Jakhar’s statement, wherein he challenged him (Sunny) to debate with him on issues concerning the constituency, Dharmendra said, “We came here to listen to sorrows of the people of the my motherland, not to participate in debates.”
The former Bikaner MP also said, “It will not be easy for us to debate with Jakhar who is like my son as his father Balram Jakhar had warm relations with me. Otherwise, too, Sunny cannot debate with Jakhar who has much experience in politics, and his father was also a politician. I have come here to campaign, but not to make speeches as I am not a politician. I don’t make speeches but have conversations with people. What is the use of lectures? Like my son, I don’t know politics and will never play ‘the dirty game’ but will serve people as God wills the same.” He added that he would go back to Mumbai after getting Sunny elected Gurdaspur MP.

Touching an emotional chord with Punjabis, Dharmendra said he was born and brought up in Punjab and will go to every nook and corner of Gurdaspur constituency to beg votes for Sunny, and hope he would win by a huge margin.
Deol senior also said he was overwhelmed with joy to see people responding to Sunny’s road show in Gurdaspur constituency with a flood of love for Sunny. Replying to a query, Dharmendra also said Sunny joined BJP because it seemed to be the will of God. He says, “We have come to serve Punjab and the country; we don’t want power, wealth. We will address public issues including poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, drug-mafia, pains of the people and do our best to solve these problems.”
