“Issues related to students are never given priority in election manifestos of political parties and hence, we decided to release our own manifesto,” said Kuldeep Ambekar founder president of SHH.
A 12-point agenda has been highlighted in the manifesto curated by the core team of the organisation, which includes students from various city-based colleges and also from different parts of the state. “There are several issues related to students who come from rural areas and another issue is unemployment. The central government had promised to give two crore jobs, but the promise has not been fulfilled. Another concern is upgradation of the current pattern of our education courses, which are of no use once we graduate from colleges,” added Ambekar.
SHH is a student organisation formed and registered by students, to work for students issues like admissions, college fees, hostel or residential issues and job opportunities.
“To take this manifesto forward and know the views of the existing political parties, we have organised an open programme on March 14 in the city, wherein young leaders from major political parties will share their views on it,” said Sandhya Sonawane, secretary of SHH.
