Lok Sabha elections 2019: People should vote for party that stands for unity, development of all, says Raj Babbar
Raj Babbar, former film star and president of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, addressed a rally in Sector 4 on Thursday in support of party candidate Capt (retd) Ajay Singh Yadav and said people should vote for a party that stands for unity in diversity and development of all the communities.

Babbar said the Congress has been working to build the nation for many decades. “The BJP is asking for votes in the name of nationalism, security, attack against Pakistan and by accusing the Congress party of non-performance, which has helped in nation building for the last 50 years,” he said, adding that the ruling party should talk about development, growth, employment, infrastructure, improving the lives of farmer and the common man.
He also said asked people to vote for Yadav as he was an experienced leader, accessible and connected to the ground.
Capt (retd) Yadav, meanwhile, assured people that development that has come to a standstill during BJP’s regime would be again taken up once the Congress comes to power. “ Whatever projects have been completed in Gurugram were started by the Congress,” he said.
The BJP, meanwhile, said that accusations made by Congress were politically motivated and meant only for getting votes.
Sitting MP and BJP’s Gurgaon candidate Rao Inderjit Singh, who campaigned in Pataudi on Thursday, said that he has fought with successive governments for the cause of south Haryana. “It is because of the work done by BJP governments that new highways, underpasses and roads have been built in this area. The Metro and Rapid Rail projects will also be implemented soon,” said Singh, who said that Congress should tell how many canals and roads the party had built during its rule.
