Lok Sabha elections 2019: Modi in Muzaffarpur: Opposition no longer in race

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday warned people against falling for rhetoric by rivals and elect a weak an unstable government of those who “plundered the state exchequer and created lawlessness and anarchy in the state”.

The Prime Minister was addressing a rally at Patahi airstrip in Muzaffarpur.

He said the “unholy political alliance” of the opposition was exercising a lot to come to power for “filling up their own coffers”.

“Endeavours of NDA to tighten noose around the corrupt politicians will continue if voted to power and will leave no stone unturned in demolishing the shopping malls erected with corrupt sources of income. They will have to show the source of income or get ready to be demolished by the competent agencies,” Modi said.

In an apparent dig at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Modi, without naming him, said “a leader was daydreaming to become the Prime Minister”. “He is only interested in fortifying his security ring and keeping glory and pride of his family intact.”

“After four rounds of elections for 381 Lok Sabha seats, those who crying hoarse against the NDA’S policies are no longer in the race,” Modi said.

Referring to explosions and bomb blasts outside temples, railway stations and public places in the country during the UPA regime, the PM said he had enough guts to wipe out terrorism and curb its menace ruthlessly.

“Modi alone can wipe out terror outfits operating from Pakistan and the factories of terrorism in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POKS) are on his hit list,” he said.

He appealed to voters to support NDA candidates in fray from Vaishali, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi Lok Sabha constituencies.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, union minister and LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan , deputy CM Shushil Kumar Modi and others also addressed the rally.

Muzaffarpur goes to polls on May 6, during the fifth phase of elections.

BJP’S Ajay Nishad is the sitting MP from the constituency. He is pitted against Raj Bhushan Choudhary of the Vakassheel Insaan Party (VIP), which was allotted the seat as part of the Grand Alliance deal.

In the 2014 parliamentary elections, Nishad had defeated Akhilesh Prasad Singh of the Congress.
