Lok Sabha Elections 2019 : Jharkhand CM hits out at Congress leaders for fielding ‘outsider’ in Dhanbad

While addressing the gathering, JMM rebel MLA Jaiprakash Patel termed JMM as ‘Soren Private Limited Party’ that has ignored Mahtos of Jharkhand.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday hit out at the Congress leadership for fielding “borrowed player” from Bihar, Kirti Jha Azad, for contesting parliamentary elections in Dhanbad.

“The Congress state president is an outsider and he, by selecting a borrowed player, has shown that the party has no faith and confidence on leaders of Jharkhand in general and Dhanbad in particular,” said chief minister Das. He also demanded a public apology from Congress president Rahul Gandhi for “misinterpreting” the Supreme Court order on Rafael aircraft issue. “Would you people vote for a person who makes false statement and abuses Prime Minister and later seeks apology stating that statement was given in the heat of political campaigning?” he asked.

Das was addressing party workers on the occasion of filing of nomination of BJP candidate from Dhanbad, PN Singh at the district board ground here.

The 2019 election is for bringing ‘Susashan’ in country once again, the CM said.

The public meeting was also addressed by top party leaders including Bihar health minister and Lok Sabha election in-change Mangal Pandey, all sitting MLAs within Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency, district board chairman besides party leaders from JD-U, Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJSP) and AJSU form Dhanbad and Bokaro districts.

Earlier, sitting MP and BJP nominee PN Singh filed his nomination papers amidst presence of top party leaders including MLA Raj Sinha, Dhallu Mahto, LJP state president Birendra Pradhan besides other before Dhanbad deputy commissioner.

PN Singh said, “I am sure that I will win with thumping margin.” Prior to going for the nominations, Singh had visited Shakti temple and sought blessing from goddess Durga. Later, he also visited Hari Mahdi in Hirapur.

Chandra Prakash Choudhary files papers for Giridih

Meanwhile, minister for drinking water and sanitation department Chandra Prakash Choudhary on Monday filed nomination papers for Giridih Lok Sabha seat amidst presence of AJSU party chief Sudesh Mahto and Tundi MLA Raj Kishore Mahto.

Former MLA Umakant Rajak, Giridih MLA Nirmal Sahabadi, Bermo MLA Batul Mahto, outgoing MP Ravindra Pandey and other top leaders form National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were also present during filing of nomination before the Bokaro Deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer.

Ragini Singh joins BJP

Ragini Singh, wife of Jharia BJP MLA Sanjeev Singh, on Monday joined the BJP even as latter’s brother Siddhartha Gautam filed nomination on Monday for Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat as Independent. The chief minister and Mangal Pandey inducted her in party during the public meeting.

Talking to media persons, Ragini said, “Now I am a BJP member hence would campaign for the party candidate. I have joined party after consulting my husband. Since he is in jail he would not campaign for the party candidate. I would try to fill the gap,” said Ragini.
