Lok Sabha elections 2019: In Bihar’s Kishanganj, Congress set to return

Mohammad Asrarul Haque of the Congress won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by more than 1.94 lakh votes.

Kishanganj Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 parliamentary constituencies in Bihar in eastern India.

Mohammad Asrarul Haque of the Congress won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by more than 1.94 lakh votes.

There were 1,438,990 electorate in the Kishanganj Lok Sabha Constituency in the 2014 elections, out of which 762,877 are male and the remaining 676,113 are female.

According to the estimates of the 2011 census, out of total 1,690,400 population, there were 866,970 males and 823,430 females in Kishanganj district.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was 64.52%.
