The assembly segments are Umarkhed, Kinwat, Hadgaon, Basmath, Kalamnuri and Hingoli.

In 2014, Lok Sabha elections, the seat was won by Rajeev Shankarrao Satav by a slender margin of 1,632 votes. He defeated Wankhede Subhash Bapurao of the Shiv Sena.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate had won the seat in 2004.
