For the last 20 years, Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency has been held by the BJP, and is currently held by Rajen Gohain of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who defeated Manash Borah of Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.

The Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency belongs to the north-eastern state of Assam and is one of the 14 seats that represent this state in the country.
