Gauhati Election Results 2019: The Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency belongs to the north-eastern state of Assam and is one of the 14 seats that represent this state in the country.

Guwahati is a city beside the Brahmaputra River in Assam.

Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency has alternated between the Congress and the BJP, and was held by Bijoya Chakravarty of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who defeated Manash Borah of Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. Currently, BJP’s Queen Oja is leading in the constituency.

There were 1,723,860 electorate in the Gauhati Lok Sabha Constituency in 2014 elections, out of which 890,882 are male and the remaining 832,978 are female.

As per the 2011 census, Gauhati had population of 957,352 of which male and female were 495,362 and 461,990 respectively.
