In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it is again a contest between BS Raghavendra and Madhu Bangarappa in Shimoga. Congress is fighting the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka in an alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular), led by Deve Gowda.
Shimoga is a high-profile constituency Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka which was represented in 2014 by BS Yeddyurappa. The former chief minister has won the seat by over 3.5 lakh votes defeating Manjunath Bhandary of the Congress.
