Shivakumar Udasi of BJP is the sitting MP. He won the 2014 elections by defeating Saleem Ahmed of the Congress by over 75,000 votes. Udasi had also defeated Ahmed in the 2009 polls.

Haveri Lok Sabha constituency was created after the delimitation exercise in 2008. Haveri Lok Sabha seat consists of eight assembly segments.

Shivakumar Udasi of BJP is the sitting MP. He won the 2014 elections by defeating Saleem Ahmed of the Congress by over 75,000 votes. Udasi had also defeated Ahmed in the 2009 polls.

Udasi is the BJP candidate again for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress has chosen DR Patil a four-time MLA, to take on Udasi. The Congress had selected a Muslim candidate in the last few elections in Haveri but has changed its tactic by selecting Patil. Haveri was a Congress bastion before BJP won it 2009.

Voting for the Lok Sabha election in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 18 and April 23. The results will be declared on May 23.
