R Radhakrishnan of the All India NR Congress (AINRC) won with a margin of 60,854 defeating Union minister of state V Narayanasamy of the Congress in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

The Congress party has won nine out of the 13 Lok Sabha elections conducted till 2014 from this general seat.

R Radhakrishnan of the All India NR Congress (AINRC) won with a margin of 60,854 defeating Union minister of state V Narayanasamy of the Congress in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. It was the first time that a member of a regional party had won the Puducherry Lok Sabha seat.

The former French colony, known for its beaches, will vote in the second phase of the seven-phased Lok Sabha election 2019 on April 18 and results will be declared on May 23.
