A man killed one of his two daughters and left the other critically injured after he beat them on the heads with an iron rod, the police said. The man has been arrested and booked for murder.

Police said neighbours of Hari Meena in New Colony at the higher secondary ground in Kherwara town heard cries of help on Friday. When one of the neighbours rushed to help, Meena threatened to kill her. The neighbour raised an alarm and when other people from the colony gathered, Meena fled.
People found two of Meena’s daughters, Khushbu (9) and Kamini (12), with injuries on their heads. Meena had beaten them with an iron rod. The two girls were rushed to the government hospital in Kherwara where Kamini succumbed to her injuries and Khushbu continues to be in a critical condition, police said.
SHO of Kherwara police station Rajendra Singh said the man was later arrested and has been booked for murder and attempt to murder.
