PS Parmar, block education officer of Balotra and also officer in-charge of schools in the block, said, “According to Rajasthan Service rules one cannot leave the headquarters where he or she is posted without informing or getting permission from the competent authority.”

Jabbar shot a written complaint to the Barmer district collector, Barmer district education officer, district project coordinator and others requesting strict action against Pushpadevi.

Jabbar also alleged that his wife harasses and abuses him every time she is in Jodhpur and he had also filed a case concerning the matter at Mahamandir police station in Jodhpur. “I got married to Puspadevi about 35 years ago. Recently I retired from my service at the revenue department. After my retirement my wife started harassing me after which I started living separately. But she still continues to do so,” Jabbar said.

Additional district project officer of Barmer, Suresh Dadich, said that he has received the complaint and has directed the district education department to take necessary action in the matter. District education officer Prithiviraj Dave said he will investigate the matter once the polls are over.

Pushpadevi said, “My husband is an alcoholic and along with some people have been conspiring against me and my family.”
