68 doctors in Rajasthan transferred to districts where bypolls are to be held
The opposition has said that it’s a decision to appease the voters in Ajmer, Alwar and Mandalgarh districts.
The state government on Thursday transferred 68 doctors to three districts where bypolls are due anytime.
The opposition has said that it’s a decision to appease the voters in Ajmer, Alwar and Bhilwara districts. Bypolls to the Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha seats and Mandalgarh Assembly constituency are coming up, after the death of the sitting MPs and a legislator.
Doctors have been transferred from 12 districts to these three districts.
Slamming the decision, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot has said that the transfers will affect arrangements and patients in these 12 districts.
The districts from which doctors have been transferred are Jaipur – I, Jaipur –II, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Bundi, Alwar, Dausa, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Kota. 33 doctors have transferred to Alwar — 13 from Sikar, nine from Jhunjhunu, six from Jaipur-I, two from Jaipur-II, one each from Dausa and Udaipur and Alwar.
Similarly, 27 doctors have been moved to Ajmer — 12 from Nagaur, four each from Tonk, Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur-II and three from Jaipur-I. Eight doctors have been transferred to Bhilwara —three from Bundi, one each from Dausa, Kota, Chittorgarh and Jaipur-I and Bhilwara.
According to the health department records, there are a total 11,395 sanctioned posts for doctors in the state against which 2,969 posts are lying vacant. The districts from where the doctors were transferred are already facing a shortage. Data reveals that Jaipur-I has 127 vacant posts, Jaipur-II has 12 posts lying vacant, Jhunjhunu73, Sikar 55, Nagaur 116, Sawai Madhopur 40, Tonk29, Bundi 42, Dausa 19, Udaipur 110, Chittorgarh 124 and Kota 35.
Ajmer, Alwar and Bhilwara, where the bypolls will be held, have 77, 83 and 191 vacant posts.
Pilot said that around 150 people have been killed due to swine flu, while more than 12 people died of scrub typhus and hundreds are suffering from seasonal diseases, but the government has filled posts only in Ajmer and Alwar keeping in mind the bypolls. The government is giving special attention to these areas so as to lure the voters.
