After a gap of four years, Indore’s Holkar Stadium is set to host an ODI between India and South Africa this November.

Indore last hosted a One-Day International (ODI) on December 8, 2011 in which opener Virender Sehwag smashed 149-ball 219 runs against West Indies, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s world record of 200 not out.
South Africa is scheduled to tour India during October and November. During the two-month tour, the Proteas will play four Tests, five ODIs and three T20 matches.
Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) secretary Milind Kanmadikar said preparations for the ODI were in full swing.
He added that Holkar Stadium conducts cricketing activities round the year and thus, it doesn’t need much preparation.
"The condition of the ground and pitch seems fine, but we only need to emphasise on other areas such as seating arrangement," said Kanmadikar.
Incidentally, the last two ODIs played at MPCA venues — the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior and the Holkar Stadium — witnessed two double-centuries being scored by two Indians.
On February 24, 2010, Tendulkar hit ODI’s first double-century at the Gwalior Stadium against South Africa, hammering their pace-attack led by Dale Steyn.
Twenty-two months later, former opener Sehwag broke the Master Blaster’s record at the Indore Stadium. Both the venues haven’t hosted any international matches since then.
