It’s a comedy so you are not really expecting anything mind-bogglingly different. But when everything becomes predictable, watching it becomes a monotonous task. This is Tom Dick And Harry’s biggest drawback, despite endless efforts to make the audience laugh.

We have already seen a comedy last month - Pyare Mohan, where the protagonists were blind and dumb. Tom, Dick And Harry has three protagonists who are physically challenged. Tom (Dino Morea) is deaf, Dick (Anuj Sawhney) is blind and Harry (Jimmy Shergill) is dumb.

Tom and Harry are tenants but can’t pay rent to their landlord Happy Singh (Rakesh Bedi). To teach them a lesson he brings in another tenant, Dick, but does not know that he is blind. Eventually they become friends.

Tom Dick And Harry has nothing new to offer to the audience.

Female trouble arrives in the form of Celina Jaitley. The three fall in love with her and the situation turns comic.Clichés are what director Deepak Tijori expects us to laugh at. Typically, when a dumb person tries to convey something to a deaf one, the message is misinterpreted. Similarly, when a blind person describes the beauty of a lady to a deaf person the result is same. But, no one is as bad as Gulshan Grover, who plays the comic villain. He appears on screen with inane dialogues.

Grover’s character is a tribute to Amrish Puri (as Grover has been given a Mogambo look). His three henchmen in the film are Mogambo, Gabbar Singh and Shakal (three memorable on screen villains).

The three leading men are average. Celina and Kim Sharma are reduced to bimbos. A word of advice for Tijori: Comedy is not all about cheap dialogues and skin show.
