Addressing public rallies in Mirzapur, Jaunpur and Varanasi districts on Sunday, the leaders of the JD(U)-Apna Dal alliance said the SP Government had failed to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
They said just as people of Bihar had become fed up with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s rule and voted his party out of power in the last Assembly polls, there was a strong wave against Mulayam Singh’s rule in the entire State, they said.
“The entire Bihar will be at the beck and call of the people of Uttar Pradesh in their endeavor to oust the Samajwadi Party from power,” Nitish Kumar said.
Sharad Yadav held the government responsible for miseries of the people. He said it had left no stone unturned to oblige big corporate houses and Bollywood stars. “We will work to make the JD(U)-Apna Dal a force to reckon with in the forthcoming assembly polls in UP so that this alliance comes to power in the state,” Yadav said.
Apna Dal president Dr Sonelal Patel also criticised the Mulayam Singh Government and Mayawati’s BSP for playing with the sentiments of voters during polls.
Later, talking to reporters, Sharad Yadav ruled out an alliance with the BJP in UP.
Earlier, Nitish Kumar and Shard Yadav paid their obeisance to Lord Hanuman at Sankat Mochan Temple. These leaders were greeted with black flags by Samajwadi Party activists on the way to the rally venue.
In Mirzapur, the leaders addressed a huge rally at Kisan Inter College, Rajgarh.
They said talks were on with other small political parties to join the front formed by the Janata Dal (U). They said Samajwadi Party leaders were selling fertile land of farmers to industrialists.
Sharad Yadav also criticized the government for the poor law and order situation. Sone Lal Patel said both the BSP and the SP were pushing the state towards bankruptcy.
