In the result announced by the Bihar school examination board on Sunday, the 15-year-old, a resident of Nalanda, secured 335 marks out of 500, getting 76% marks in maths.
The alleged rape caused nationwide outrage as Raj Ballabh Yadav, who is the Nawada MLA, remained on the run for almost a month. He gave himself up on March 10 and remains in jail.
Family members said they were happy with the girl’s performance and expected her to do better in future. They also thanked the Nalanda administration for arranging home tuitions for the girl.
The girl alleges that she was taken to the residence of Yadav, a local strongman, in the neighbouring Nawada and raped.
Family members were not sure if the she would be able to overcome the trauma andsit the examination.
The district administration allowed her an examination centre of her choice as she was not comfortable being in public and needed privacy. She was also provided security at home as well as the exam centre, where she was given a separate room.
