Notorious five get a taste of public anger

THE GANG of five brothers who on Tuesday carried on the bonnet of their moving vehicle circle officer Chowk (Lucknow) Rajesh Sahni in full public view happen to be notorious residents of New Azad Nagar, Kalyanpur. Once the Lucknow police proved false the gang’s claim to political connections, residents of their locality threw out all their belongings from the house they had rented from Akhilesh Tripathi. They had not once paid the rent in last four years.

The five brothers, Prithviraj Lohia,  Harshwardhan Lohia, Narayan Lohia, Rajwardhan Lohia and Uday Pratap Lohia, have charges of eve-teasing against them.

All the while they have been claiming to be grandsons of Ram Manohar Lohia and saying that senior SP leader Janeshwar Mishra is their foster father. To boost their claim, they even sport attire worn usually by politicians. They all dress in identical clothes and shoes of the same brand, which makes them conspicuous. 

The modus operandi of the brothers was unique.

They would visit senior police officials of the city as and when the latter took charge and develop intimacy with them. They also managed to get photographed with some of the officials to impress their ‘clients’.

Using such props, they extorted money from people assuring in turn to get their work done by police and other departments. No one ever questioned their affiliations to the SPand gullible ones continued to believe their claims to affiliation with political dignitaries.

SSP city PC Meena never allowed the brothers to get close to him and so they were now trying to operate from outside Kanpur.
