Not much headway in PSI shooting case
The Punjab and Maharashtra Bank robbery case has not been taken forward, reports G Mohiuddin Jeddy.
Not much headway has been made in the Punjab and Maharashtra Bank botched robbery case of Wednesday at Airoli, Navi Mumbai, which led to the death of Police Sub-Inspector Babasaheb Adhao.

Additional Director General Sanjeev Dayal visited Navi Mumbai on Thursday and held a meeting with Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Ramrao Wagh and other senior police officials. While he refused to speak to the media, the police were also tight lipped about the meeting.
Navi Mumbai police have been holding a series of meetings since the incident. Police Commissioner Ramrao Wagh told Hindustan Times on Thursday, "We have formed a special investigative at the Commisisonerate level to be headed by DCP Zone I Amar Jadhav. It will include 1 ACP, 2 Police Inspectors, 4 officers and 15 men. Apart from this team the Crime branch and the local Rabale police station will also be investigating the case."
Speaking on the investigations so far, DCP Amar Jadhav said, "Based on the modus operandi employed during Wednesday's incident, we have zeroed in on 2-3 gangs who have struck similarly earlier."
Asked about the probability of the involvement of the notorious Dabboo gang, Jadhav said, "They are among the suspects, but we cannot rule out the others. We are investigating all angles and it will not be proper to disclose them at this stage."
The DCP put up a brave face saying the detection rate of Navi Mumbai police has been very good. "Compared to the average in Mumbai, we have fared better. Of the last six major robberies we have solved 5 of them. In a couple of cases like the jewellery heist and the robbing of a business, we chased the gangs and managed to nab at least one member. Our force is committed and we shall crack this case as well." declared jadhav.
