Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee will also feature in the curriculum at the secondary school level, Saraf said.
His justification is that when school books can have chapters dedicated to Congress leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, other deserving leaders can also be accommodated.
“Atalji did superb job but he has not been included in any curriculum just because he is not from Congress. I plan to include chapters on Atalji and Modi once he becomes PM,” Saraf told HT.
Saraf said Modi has struggled a lot in the life and his life story would inspire students to achieve higher goals in life.
The Congress has criticised Saraf’s idea. “BJP tries to promote the ideology of RSS whenever it comes to power. They should also include the 2002 riots in the chapter,” said state Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma.
