IS LUCKNOW Municipal Corporation boss planning to take up quackery? The way Ram Bodh Maurya talks about his therapeutic skills, it seems likely. He says he can cure hypertension, diabetes, stress and other psychosomatic disorders haunting humanity. Does he have a degree to do so? No. “But, I can cure them if they strictly follow my treatment,” he said when asked whether he was really sure about his plans.
“I have already cured a mentally disturbed girl in my village. There are many patients in Ghaziabad who have benefited from my treatment,” he said. Stay under my watch is the first requirement, he claimed and added, “that is for about a week during which patients go through various sessions of meditation.”
“I will also give the medicines for different diseases, prepared from the extracts of the seeds of Jamun, Bitter Gourd, and Neem leafs,” he said.
The churna prepared from these things cures diseases like diabetes, hypertension and other psychosomatic disorders. It can normalise BP and diabetes in a week. “A cure is possible within a month if taken properly,” he said.
He said he would make patients sow a seed of wheat in nine pots each day during his stay. The patient will have to eat that wheat ear grain each day.
That’s why, he said, the LMC has planted so many saplings on the Gomti and Lucknow Municipal Corporation has published a book on its work of planting nearly 1 lakh trees in the city this year. In the book, municipal commissioner Ram Bodh Maurya claims that through tree plantation he has beautified the banks of the Gomti besides helping the environment of city by increase the green cover.
But now his claims have reached a new high that he can cure the disease despite of him not being a medical practitioner. This has raised many an eyebrow in the LMC office. An LMC official said, “I don’t know how far the municipal commissioner is correct in curing the diseased and opening a centre without being a registered medical practitioner.”
