Docs take calls as mobiles of the dead ring endlessly

It was a gory sight at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur as there was a total chaos, reports VeerSain and P. Srinivasan.

It was a gory sight at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur. Ambulances were coming and moving out of the Emergency Gate. There was total chaos at the hospital. Panicky relatives thronged the hospital to find their relatives.

Special Task Force was deployed at the hospital to control the rush. Due to lack of beds in the SMS Hospital, several injured were moved to Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital, Jaipuria Hospital, Kanwatia Hospital and other hospitals in the city. As hospitals ran short of blood, they started making announcements for blood donation.

Umesh Dangayach (55) was a ruined man. He lost both his granddaughters in Tuesday’s blasts. Dangayach reportedly visited the Hanuman temple at Chandpole inside the walled city to offer prayers with his wife and two granddaughters.

Councillor Giriraj Khandelwal met patients at the SMS Hospital.

It was a peculiar situation for doctors at the SMS Hospital. They even used the mobile phones of the dead to communicate the shocking news to their kin.

According to SMS Hospital sources, of nearly 20 bodies that were brought to the hospital, the mobile phones on three bodies started ringing.

The doctors, who had declared them brought dead, had to give the shocking news to their relatives on the mobiles phones being carried by the dead victims.

States condemns the vicious acts of terrorism in Jaipur…We extend our deepest sympathies to those injured and to the victims’ families. There can be no possible justification for murderous attacks on innocent people.”
