Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank made the announcement in Dehradun on Sunday.
"We believe Mahendra Singh Dhoni's association with Jim Corbett National Park and with tiger conservation will help the campaign in a big way," the CM said after Dhoni accepted his offer.
Dhoni was in the capital for the 'Tiger Agenda' that demands greater consolidation of the Corbett landscape and protecting corridors along the Terai Arc.
"I have come to request the CM to ensure a safe environment for tigers," he said, adding: "I look forward to the corridors of Corbett-Rajaji being widened and strengthened."
From the CM's residence Dhoni's headed for his in-laws' house.
Hundreds of people, including schoolgoing children, braved the downpour and waited outside Sakshi Dhoni's house for a glimpse of the 'star couple'.
