Dethrone central and Bihar govts: Rajnath, Jaitley

The day Narendra Modi “takes oath as Prime Minister of the country,” both Pakistan and China will stop intimidating India, BJP president Rajnath Singh said in Patna on Sunday.

Addressing the huge gathering at the Gandhi Maidan, he said Modi would turn India into a superpower with the BJP’s positive politics.
Coming down heavily on the Congress, Singh said the party, which ruled for 55 years, had sufficient time to develop the nation. Instead, it ruined the country and turned it into a pauper. “Now only Narendra Bhai Modi can put this country back on track,” he said.
Singh said when price rise assailed the country the BJP had questioned it and the UPA had said prices of essential commodities would be checked in 100 days from when it took power. “On the other hand, during the regime of the BJP, prices of commodities were never allowed to rise,” he added.
Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said people were ready to dethrone the governments at the Centre and in Patna in the next elections.
“Singhasan khali karo, ki janata aati hai (people have come, so vacate the throne). It is like a wave of change witnessed in 1974. Those who are unable to understand it will be swept away,” he said, addressing the rally.
“Your response shows that you are prepared to dethrone not one government but two. We will not only dethrone those in power at the Centre but will also bring about a change in Patna.”
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Jaitley said the UPA government was one of the most corrupt the country had ever had. He also criticised the Centre’s economic policies. He also recalled the slogan “Congress hatao, desh bachao” (remove the Congress and save the nation) slogan.
